Social Responsibility

April 22 marks Earth Day.  To extend this celebration of our planet, Sodexo is coming together on social media throughout the month to commit to sustainability initiatives and make a difference in the communities we serve.  Sodexo's Better Tomorrow Committments will be showcased as everyone from employees and students, partners and managers, residents and beyone make committments that will have an impact beyone Earth Day.

Watch for your opportunities to make your committment and let us share your message on our website and Sodexo's at www.facebook.com/SodexoSustainability.

On April 3rd Rollins Marketplace Team made their commitments.

WHAT WILL YOU COMMIT TO?

On March 29, 2014 the management team of Sodexo / Rollins Dining Services, prepared and served lunch at the local Habitat

for Humanity build-site in Winter Park, Florida. We grilled meat and vegetables and prepared delicious pita sandwiches.

The volunteers don't typically get a hot lunch for their efforts, so this was quite a treat. Rollins students volunteer at the local

Habitat build-sites the last Saturday of every month, so they we able to be a part of this volunteer effort as well.

On February 20, 2014 the management team of Sodexo / Rollins Dining Services made our annual trek to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare and serve a meal to the house guests.  This year's menu consisted of a delicious meat & pasat dish, with a vegetarian option, and caesar salad, bread sticks, dessert, and beverages. We value the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing organization and look forward to helping every year.

How You Can Help

You can help us help the environment in a number of ways:

  1. Take only the number of napkins you need per meal.
  2. Take only one cup for each beverage purchase.
  3. Use paper bags for carryout, where provided.
  4. Recycle aluminum cans throughout campus at the designated recycling stations as well as at home.
  5. Dine in rather than carrying out.
  6. Get involved with your school and the Food Service Recycling Program.
